A look into our projects’ galaxy

An update from our Project Managers. Find out, what we are currently working on, what new technologies are we implementing and what are our plans for future releases.

League of Geeks (Maja Bieńko)

What is the project about?

League of Geeks is our internal gamification application. There, we earn Geexperience Points (GXP) for activities during our everyday work. Users can level-up on the leaderboard, collect badges, achievements and GCoins. Later, they can exchange these for awards. It is an exciting and fun competition, which integrates employees as well as enriches everyday cooperation.

What are the plans for the project?

For a few months, the team has been working on new functionality. We aim to create one place where all departments can publish tasks. We call these ‘opportunities’. Aspire employees can apply for them and once they have reached the goal, they win GXP and GCoins. Examples can be to prepare MVP for our client or to design the Aspire T-shirt for sports events.

We also correct bugs and introduce small amendments. We believe that the application needs constant changes, along with the growth of our users.

PM Flocert (Łukasz Dawidowski)

What is the project about?

Flocert is an organisation that handles Fairtrade certification. Fairtrade is an initiative for assuring that trade of goods considers producers first. It ensures that they earn a guaranteed price to reduce exploitation.

What has the team been working on recently?

Recently we’ve developed a way to confirm or edit reported transactions. This was one of the requested features by organisations that report many transactions. We’ve also created a reminder solution that sends e-mails when reports are to become overdue. We are working to improve the user experience of the platform.

What are the plans for the project?

Right now, we are working on the alert mechanism. It will run in a periodical manner and analyze reported transactions. This functionality will be the backbone of a separate application called Auditor portal. Currently, an audit must be performed on-site, with the auditor travelling to the organisations. This is not cost-effective. The Auditor portal is a way to mitigate those costs. It will allow for a smaller feedback loop when contacting organisations.

SunAir (Maja Janowska)

What is the project about?

Stedentrips.nl is a web application for booking city-break packages, including travel, accommodation and extras. It offers excursions to European and American cities. Travellers can choose from more than 50 cities. For now, we are targeting the Netherlands, but the potential of this application is much bigger.

What has the team been working on recently?

Recently we introduced the functionality of adding hotels to a ‘favourites list’. Apart from that, the team’s top priority is performance and we improve this almost every sprint.

What are the plans for the project?

In this very moment, the team is finalizing renewal of a page with offers. It’s exciting! We are enthusiastic about the new look and we can’t wait to publish it to customers. In the nearest future, we plan to release FAQ and ‘Who we are’ pages.

Volunteering (Michał Wojtowicz)

What is the project about?

In this project, we have created a mobile application for the Volunteer Centre in Gdańsk. The main challenge for the Centre is reaching voluntaries and communicating with them. Now there is one way to get knowledge on how to become a volunteer. You need to browse through ads, register on-line and then send an e-mail. Because most of the volunteers are teenagers, it’s easier to connect with them via mobile app or Facebook. That is why we are creating a mobile app.

On what the team was working recently?

We need to integrate the app with the whole system. Various developers were working on this system, and there is no documentation or API. There is a significant space for improvement. The whole project has two phases. In the first, we provided a mobile app for both Android and IOs with the same functionality as the website.

What are the plans for the project?

Currently, we are finishing logic of the first phase and are applying tweaks and improvements for it. In the second phase, we are going to add some extra features, reminders, notifications for better communication and some basic reporting logic to prepare certificates.

Avio (Łukasz Ostaniewicz)

What is the project about?

The software solution is an Electronic Flight Bag that supports aircraft pilots and flight crew in the performance of flight management tasks. With this product, data previously provided as paper documents can now be delivered directly to a mobile device such as a tablet.

What has the team been working on recently?

Over the last few months, the Team has been working on a Globe module advanced flight visualization and optimization features, on improvements to the way the application supports the pilot’s daily operational duties and on technical and architectural improvements.

What are the plans for the project?

With the product’s entry into new geographic markets, we are adapting the application to specific aviation requirements. At the same time, the application is being adapted to support bigger volumes of data and therefore to support the world’s biggest airlines.

E-scan (Seweryn Rutkowski)

What is the project about?

E-Scan is a project that helps people develop their entrepreneurship, get insights on their skills and on what kind of mindset is dominant for them. Users are asked to fill in one of the questionnaires and the application calculates a score. The user can download the report, which contains descriptions and conclusions about their competencies and thinking styles.

What has the team been working on recently?

We are currently working on a new layout of pdf reports and improving the user experience of questionnaires. There is a plan to create a new type of questionnaire for school students to check their competences.

DVI – Da Vinci International (Karol Marek)

Any news from the project?

Recently we have mostly been focusing on enabling the fast growth of the SMARTsalon platform and opening the system to be fully functional for beauty salons. In the upcoming weeks, we are going to start development of a new booking platform to be used by all beauty salons with real-time SMARTsalon synchronization. As well as BarberBooking, our new system is going to be fully independent, enabling communication with SMARTsalon, while also being able to cooperate with any third-party salon management software.
