iEmergency – idea for an iPhone application?

During emergency a split second can make the difference between life and death. Are you sure you will be able to instantly access the proper telephone numbers on your phone? Whom to call? It could be life saving if you know the most important medical details. Do you remember or maybe even use the “SOS Talisman“? Why not add similar data and even more to the iPhone? We might have a good idea for an iPhone application, we named it “iEmergency” and we are curious about your opinion.

Concept
iEmergency is an iPhone application. The main purpose of this application is to help people in all sort of emergency situations like a car accident, heart attack, robbery, being drunk after a party etc.

Assumptions
The application contains a library of predefined objects called emergency situations. Each emergency situation will contain a set of actions. We can distinguish the following action types:

  1. Text note –  text message that can contain location, etc..
  2. Phone call – A telephone number with additional information why to call there and all additional important information
  3. Sms – A list of numbers
  4. Voice message – A list of numbers, voice record
  5. Show my location – Location from GPS (that can be attached to sms, text note etc.), Google map
  6. Media note – A picture, animation or video record
  7. Update social media account status – Send a status update to twitter, facebook, skype etc.

The user is able to manage emergency situations and actions through the settings area:

  • Change action parameters
  • Define new / remove action
  • Define new / remove the emergency situation
  • Add / remove actions to emergency situation

There will be one emergency situation dashboard that will appear at application startup: for example: “Help this phone owner”.

User interface
Each Emergency situation is a single dashboard (screen) and each action is a component on that dashboard.
