We spend most of our adult life at work. We sit in front of a computer for 8 hours. After going back home, we often spend time watching TV. This isn’t good for your health or work effectiveness. Why are more and more companies are trying to encourage their employees to be more active, and how can sport help you achieve more at work?
A healthy worker is a happy worker
One of the basic benefits of sport is better health. Physical activity causes a decrease in blood/sugar levels and blood pressure, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disorders, heart attacks and diabetes, improves our metabolism and helps stay in shape.
It’s recommended that we engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise every week. At Aspire we’ve got a lot of opportunities to be active. Every worker can get MyBenefit card or gym membership. Thanks to a regular activity we are ready for new challenges and more satisfied with life.
According to research from the University of Warwick, happiness makes people more productive at work. They use their time more effectively, increasing the pace at which they work without sacrificing quality.
Boost of creativity!
Physical activity, even a simple walk, can boost your creativity. If you look at famous entrepreneurs such as Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg with their walking meetings, you can see it works. A study by Stanford researchers explains that creative thinking improves while walking and shortly after. Exercising help people come up with new ideas and solutions.
To help increase creativity we organize running and swimming training.
Keep calm and work out!
Sport can be also a good way to get rid of stress. We often feel overwhelmed with job responsibilities and have a lot in our mind. An overloaded mind can hinder the process of thinking, but often, after only 30 minutes of physical activity, things seem brighter.
Exercise reduces levels of the body’s stress hormones: adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain which are the body’s natural painkillers and mood elevators.
Team building
One of the basic rules of management is to build teams, where people feel comfortable and trust each other. There is a simple way to do that: team sports. Nothing integrates people better than a common goal, which is why everyone can join the Aspire Power Club.
Within this group, we often take part together in sports events. To prepare, we take part in training, but also motivate each other while participating in sports challenges. This not only improves interpersonal relationships and develop better communication. It also creates a fun way to make people healthier.
Perseverance
Hard work helps overcome your limitations. Climbing a high peak or running a marathon requires solid preparation and tremendous strength of character. You become more persistent, goal-oriented and motivated. These qualities help in professional life, where you also need to rise above your limitations.
Exercise eliminates anxiety, boosts creativity and clears the mind
